We are available:
To give free, friendly and impartial advice at venues based in your local community.

The Centre now has projects in partnership with TWL; 13 weeks rolling programmes and are as follows:

Engagement to Access Employment

  • Motivation and self confidence workshops
  • Budgeting and personal development
  • Visits to employers and training providers
  • Image makeover and healthy eating
  • Social events
  • The opportunity to gain up to £100 in vouchers

Cumbria Employability Skills and Training

  • Employability skills
  • Motivational Course
  • CV and job search skills
  • Undertake a short certificated course
  • Social Events Calendar
  • 2 week work placement
  • The opportunity to gain up to £100 in vouchers

Childcare and travel expenses are paid on both of the above programmes.

We are also running another separate 13 week rolling programme in partnership with Igen; which is as follows:-

Employability Skills Programme

You will be given the opportunity to undertake:

  • A qualification in literacy
  • A qualification in numeracy
  • A qualification in Employability Skills
  • Work experience/taster sessions
  • Training allowance payable for those participating at least 20 hours per week

Skills For Life

We offer 1-1 and group tuition for individuals to improve their literacy skills up to level 2. We can also tailor course content to suit specific needs and aspirations.
